Track 2:- Application Process

Beneficiaries & Eligibility Criteria Under Track 2 include:

Tech Bootcamp Providers:– Rapid technical skills training providers or skill intermediaries that offer short-term, applied, intensive technology skills training paired with collaborative problem-solving and other soft skills development.

Rapid Tech Skills Students:– These include Kenyan students that will benefit from tuition subsidies provided to technology boot camp providers. Participation of female students is highly encouraged.

Eligibility Criteria - Tech Bootcamp Providers

Experience in Rapid Tech Boot

Demonstrated experience in organizing rapid tech boot camps lasting 3 to 6 months.

Vision 2030

Alignment with Government's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda and Kenya Vision 2030.

Management

Successful management of at least 2 technology bootcamps with proven impact.

2 years

More than 2 years of existence.

Registered

Legally registered in Kenya.

Eligibility Criteria For Schoolers

To be eligible for the program, applicants must be Kenyan citizens with a diploma or degree in a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) completed within the last three years. Candidates should have a strong interest in pursuing a career in technology, and females and persons living with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.

Eligibility Criteria - Rapid Tech Skills Students

18 years of age

Must be a Kenyan citizen over 18 years of age.

KCSE Certificate

Provide valid proof of your KCSE certificate.

Tech Graduates

Diploma or degree in a STEM-related field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), completed within the last three years.

Tech Interest

Display a genuine interest in developing both soft and technical skills, essential for becoming a future-ready tech professional.

Inclusivity

Females and Persons Living with Disability are encouraged to apply.

Funding For Phase I

A total of $3.7 Million in performance-based grants will be given to chosen Accelerators and Incubators, while selected Tech Bootcamp providers are scheduled to receive $800,000. Students who are part of Rapid Tech Skills programs will experience reduced tuition costs amounting to $450,000. A similar funding amount is allocated for phase II.

Cross-cutting criteria for both Incubators & Accelerator

  • The geographical distribution of the rapid tech skill students to ensure wider coverage.
  • The stage of development of the tech boot camp.
  • 50% presence of women among the management team and staff
  • Presence and the number of women engaged in the boot camps.
